Sergius N. Hanson,
PE, PG
Principal and Environmental Engineer
Serge has 30 years of experience in construction, demolition, civil
engineering, environmental engineering, and project management experience
in environmental site investigations, demolition, site restoration,
remediation design, and construction throughout the United States
in all types of continental climates and terrain. Civil and geotechnical
engineering project work experience includes 30 years of both federal
civil service, consultant service, and work as a contractor on over
500 projects ranging from site investigations to serving on the
design team of the $2 billion Central Arizona Project Aqueduct built
by the US Bureau of Reclamation, to operating as a Contractor for
$3 million of contamination cleanup, site restoration, and earthwork
.
Selected Project Experience
• CityCenter Englewood – Demolition site clean-up,
earthwork and redevelopment. Mr. Hanson provided interactive design-build
services as an engineer, managed and directed the transportation
of 250,000 cubic yards of structural fill and recycled crushed concrete
fill, its placement, and grading for the redevelopment of the former
Cinderella Shopping Mall site in Englewood, Colorado. This multi-million
dollar project included inter-facing with the lead demolition contractor,
environmental soil and groundwater investigations, removal and legal
disposal of over 4,000 cubic yards of hydrocarbon contaminated waste
soils, import of 125,000 cubic yards of structural fill from 11
miles away, removal of old asphalt, removal of 400 buried concrete
caissons, and interactive design assistance for earthwork and grading.
Total site redevelopment work managed by Mr. Hanson was approximately
$2.2 million.
• ARCS Program Coordinator, Denver, Colorado - As Principal
Hydrogeologist for Brown and Caldwell Consulting Engineers, responsibilities
included coordinating activities with URS Consultants on a 150 million
dollar US EPA Alternative Remediation Contracts Strategy (ARCS)
contract. Work included teaming arrangements, proposal preparation,
cost estimating, and subcontract work execution.
• Mr. Hanson has worked as the director and chief program
manager for a government contractor on Federal projects all over
the US including Yucca Flats Proposed Nuclear Repository in Nevada
for the Depatment of Energy, environmental remediation of Fort Dix
in New Jersey for the Army Environmental Center, NEPA program compliance
for the Air Force including EA’s and noise studies, annual
comprehensive groundwater monitoring and reporting for the Rocky
Mountain Arsenal, and work for the Forest Service, USGS, EPA, and
other agencies.
