Hydrogeologic Investigations

E-21 personnel have conducted greater than 200 hydrogeologic investigations. Studies have been completed in association with hazardous materials release, water resources, Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, underground storage tanks, and former and current process settling ponds. Sites have including sites contaminated with petroleum, heavy metals, volatile organic compounds, PCBs, and herbicides/pesticides. Many of these projects were carried to remedial design or clean-up stage.

Clean-up and water resource investigations regularly include aquifer testing. These tests include hydraulic conductivity evaluation through simple K-tests to full-scale 3-day pump tests. Data derived from aquifer analyses allow evaluation of groundwater quantity and flow velocity. Aquifer dewatering activities, including baseline monitoring of groundwater quantity and quality, are regularly performed in the coal bed methane industry, a major group of E-21 clients.

E-21 personnel also provide investigation, analyses, and permitting assistance for waste water pit and NPDES discharge permitting for oil and gas production fields. E-21 is currently providing groundwater discharge pit and NPDES permitting assistance for two coal-bed methane production fields.
