Project Description: Provided immediate characterization
of the hydrostratigraphy of the Ogallala Formation for the purpose
of evaluating source and migration of denser chlorinated compounds
released into the environment. Sonic drilling combined with an on-site
laboratory performed the first of its kind evaluation of the Ogallala
Aquifer throughout the City of Ogallala, NE. Distribution of chlorinated
compounds and their breakdown products were identified to develop
remediation strategies associated with this prolific aquifer.
